Super Easy Steps for Setting Up Your Email

Hey there! So you have an email address from your website hosting by Sensible Websites and you want to get it on your iPhone.

This guide will show you exactly how to connect that mailbox to your iPhone's Mail app. Just follow the pictures and the steps, and you'll be sending and receiving emails from your email address in minutes!

Part 1: What You'll Need

Before we start, you need to have your secret information ready. You can find the information you need by logging into your email using the RoundCube webmail that comes free with your hosting account.

Log in at: https://<yourdomain>/webmail - replace the <yourdomain> placeholder with your actual domain name. It will be something like 'yourwebsite.com'.

You will need four things:

  1. ? Your Full Email Address: This looks something like yourname@yourwebsite.com.

  2. ? Your Email Password: This is the secret password for your email. Make sure you type it exactly right! If you don't know your password send an email to support@sensiblewebsites.com and as to have it reset.

  3. ?️ Your Mail Server Name: This is a special address that starts with mail. followed by your website name, like mail.yourwebsite.com. You'll use this for both "Incoming" and "Outgoing" servers.

  4. ? Your iPhone: Got it ready? Let's go!

Got everything? Great! Let's move on to the fun part.

Part 2: The Step-by-Step Mission

We're going to tell your iPhone all about your new email account. Just follow these steps one by one.

Step 1: Open Your iPhone's Settings

First, find the Settings app on your iPhone. It's the one with the gray gears. Tap on it!

Step 2: Scroll to Mail

Inside Settings, you'll see a long list. Scroll down until you find Mail. It has a white envelope icon. Tap on it.

Step 3: Go to Accounts

Now you're in the Mail settings. Tap on the button that says Mail Accounts. This is where all your email mailboxes live.

Step 4: Add a New Account

Here you'll see any accounts you already have. We want to add a new one, so tap on Add Account.

Step 5: Choose "Other"

Your iPhone knows about big companies like Google and Yahoo, but our email is special! So, we need to choose the last option: Other.

Step 6: Tap "Add Mail Account"

You're getting close! Now tap on the first choice, Add Mail Account.

Step 7: Fill In Your Info

This is where you'll use your info from Part 1!

  • Name: Type your name here.

  • Email: Type your full cPanel email address ( it will look something like this: yourname@yourwebsite.com).

  • Password: Carefully type your email password.

  • Description: You can just call it "My Email" or whatever you like! This is what will be displayed as the mailbox name in the iPhone mail app.

When you're done, tap the Next button at the top right.

Step 8: The Tricky Part! Your Server Settings

This screen is the most important. It's where you tell the iPhone how to find your mailbox.

Make sure IMAP is selected at the top. Now, fill out both the INCOMING MAIL SERVER and the OUTGOING MAIL SERVER sections. The information is usually the same for both!

  • Host Name: This is your special server name (mail.yourwebsite.com - again make sure to use your real domain name).

  • User Name: This is your full email address again.

  • Password: Type your email password here again.

It should look just like this picture.

NOTE: In the outgoing settings the username and password say 'optional' - they are NOT optional - be sure to fill in these fields.

When you've filled everything out for both sections, tap Next.

Step 9: Verification and Saving

Your iPhone will now try to connect to your mailbox. You'll see 'Verifying' in the top bar, then little checkmarks appear. This can take a minute, so be patient!

Once it's done, you'll see a final screen. Just tap the Save button at the top right.

Part 3: You Did It! Mission Complete!

Congratulations, agent! You have successfully set up your email account.

Go back to your home screen and open the Mail app. You should now see your new mailbox in the list. You can now send and receive emails from your address!

Having trouble? If it didn't work, the most common reason is a small typo in the password or the server name. Just go back through the steps and double-check that everything is spelled perfectly. You've got this!
